Four local moms spearheaded the re-formation of the Wicker Park Advisory Council early in 2001, and there's been nothing but action since, as the Council is actively and energetically working with the City of Chicago Park District to better the park. Already, a new playground and dog run have been created, new fencing installed, and the historic fountain rebuilt. And there are a record number of classes and attendees in the Field House.
What's Next?
We are looking for ways to continue improving the playground area such as adding more benches. We would also like to increase the number of benches around the fountain. The field house is in need of more storage space and we can always improve programming. . Help lend your voice to the park and join the Wicker Park Advisory Council today. Committees:
Active committees include dog run, special events, outreach and a special committee for a tile project in the playground. We are looking for volunteers to help expand the committees.
