This summer on SIX Sundays the Wicker Park Advisory Council, Wicker Park Garden Club and the Chicago Park District will produce the Wicker Park Trio 2008. Wicker Park Bucktown SSA#33 has committed to sponsor the series. The event showcases our neighborhood by (1) presenting six music performances featuring some of Chicago’s finest professional classical and jazz musicians, (2) offering tours of our award winning park gardens and historic park and (3) encouraging our guests to dine, shop, and tour our historic neighborhood.
Chicago's Farmers Markets bring more than 70 vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers to over 20 neighborhoods throughout the City of Chicago. From June 3rd through October 26th, the Wicker Park &amp Bucktown Markets will be held every Sunday from 7:00 am - 2:00 pm. When you shop at a local Farmers Market, you help preserve open lands that protect the environment!
All summer long the Chicago Park District offers FREE movies in neighborhood parks across the city. The Movies in the Park series offers Chicago families a fun, affordable way to enjoy summer evenings with their neighbors in the parks. On August 7th at dusk, Surf's Up will be shown in Wicker Park. Surf's Up is a computer-animated sports mockumentary about penguin surfing contests, which makes it stand out from the crowd of penguin movies.
